Disaster resilience

Timely post-disaster information
METU Ankara needed earthquake-induced displacement and landslide information for a large area shortly after the Elazig earthquake in January 2020.
InSAR analysis was used to determine the displacements caused by the earthquake and the landslides that were triggered.
Highlights
-
Ground displacement and landslide information was needed soon after the Elazig earthquake without visiting the area.
-
Horizontal and vertical ground displacements were determined giving the full extent of affected areas from the epicentre.
-
Earthquake-triggered landslide locations, extent and severity were also determined.
